Parent & Pal Outdoor Adventures: Fishing Derby & Trailblazer

September 11- 13, 2009

Two great programs together on one weekend. Choose from our tournament style Fishing Derby or our round robin style Trailblazer. Open to Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, Venturers and their parents. We promise a great weekend at a super price.

Fishing Derby: Program Option One

Do you love to fish? Spend a day on Lake Coruage and see if you can catch the lunker bass. We hae several prize categories including most fish, largest fish and most poundage. There are three tournament groups so you are competing against your own age: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers.

More than seven miles of shoreline fishing and those with a current BSA swim test can use our canoes or rowboats or bring you own boat. There is room for everyone. No gas motors or motorboats allowed. All electric motors must be mountable to the craft.

Come join the fun. The fishing competition runs from Saturday at 6:30 a.m. until 5:50 p.m.

Trailblazer: Program Option Two

Do you love the outdoors and what it has to offer? Outdoor organizations from across the state will be at Heritage to teach Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers and their parents about the great outdoors and some of the sports associated with it.

Participants will recive an introduction to firearm safety and have the opportunity to practice what they leanred on our ranges: Archery, BB gun (Cub Scouts), .22 rifle (Boy Scouts and Venturers) as well as shotgun (Boy Scouts and Venturers).

In the round robin style event you will also learn about taxidermy, fishing, including casting and shoreline, fly fishing, including casting and fly-tying, trapping and wildlife identification.
