Micro-Trek
Perfect for the novice and experienced High Adventure camper, Micro-Trek is a base camp experience with five highlight activities during the day and various free time activities in the evenings. Campers are introduced to trail cooking, wilderness camping and trail equipment.

Sunday
12:30 p.m. - Check in at Pathfinder for medical re-checks and swim tests
2:00 p.m. - Equipment checkout, set up campsite at Valley Forge Wilderness Camping Area
6:30 p.m. - Dinner
7:30 p.m. - Evening activity
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - Breakfast
9:00 a.m. - Instruction
10:00 a.m. - Day activity
12:30 p.m. - Trail lunch
1:00 p.m. - Continue day activity
4:30 p.m. - Return to Heritage
6:30 p.m. - Dinner
7:30 p.m. - Evening activity
Friday Evening
4:00 p.m. - Hike to outpost site
6:30 p.m. - Dinner
8:00 p.m. - Social campfire
Saturday
7:00 a.m. - Return to base camp
8:00 a.m. - Closing Banquet and slideshow at Pathfinder Lodge
9:00 a.m. - Check-in all program equipment and pack for home
10:30 a.m. - Trading Post visit and check-out
Provided Equipment
Daypack, tents, first aid kit, backpacking stoves, cook and chef kits, mess kits, collapsible water jugs, nalgene bottles, water purifiers and iodine tablets, sleeping mat, daily program gear, GPS unit, weather radio, satellite phone (for emergencies)
Additional Details
- A comprehensive medical examination is required for all participants because of the higher level of activities. This involves a physician’s visit within one year.
- Each participant must bring completed Laurel Caverns and Wilderness Voyageurs forms (available on our website).
You must be a strong swimmer, and some boating experience is helpful. Participants must pass the BSA swimmers test on Sunday to participate.
