 Register For Camp

MountainFest

Registration includes free dinner on Saturday, a full day of activities, commemorative, genuine-leather totem and arena show.

In consultation with key volunteers, leadership and staff, and after careful consideration, we are excited to announce that this fall will offer the best opportunity for us to come together and celebrate the union of our two great Councils into the new Laurel Highlands Council.

To commemorate our merger we invite all Scouting units and members to attend a very exciting Laurel Highlands Council Camporee held at Heritage Reservation, near Farmington Pennsylvania, September 16 – 18, 2011. We kindly ask that every Pack, Troop and Crew “Save the Date” NOW and make every attempt to attend what will be an event that every member of the Laurel Highlands Council, youth and adult, will not forget.

There will be a wide array of activities for all ages including aquatics, fishing, shooting sports, climbing, COPE, Scout skills, camping, cooking and much more. We are sure these activities will build new and strengthen old bonds within our Council.

Registration

Registraton is available online here or call the Camping Department on (412) 325-7921 to register over the phone. Please note the following:

  • Participant (Heritage wall tent) is primarily for Cub Scout Packs as most do not have camping gear.
  • Participant (unit provided tent) is primarily for Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews that have their own tents.
    • This will allow as many Cub Scout Packs to attend as possible without excluding them because they don't have tents.

MountainFest Totem

Upon arrival, each participant, youth and adult, attending MountainFest will be given a Totem, as well as a supply of colored beads; each District will have their own color bead. To help commemorate the formation of the Laurel Highlands Council, participants are asked to meet members from each District, and trade beads, completing the spectrum of beads on their own Totem. Additionally, participants can go to the Handicraft areas of each camp to further customize their Totems, making them a fond reminder of MountainFest for years to come.

MountainFest Arena Show

stereotype logoSaturday night at MountainFest will cap off the weekend with an arena show. For the first time, youth and adults from all corners of the newly formed Council will come together to enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. A presentation of the new council flag, unveiled by the Council President and Order of the Arrow Chief, will be followed by bands and entertainment throughout the night.

A rededication ceremony, for all age groups will also be led, reminding us all of our shared purpose and sense of adventure. Different presentations, led by the Order of the Arrow, will also help us to remember the formation of the Laurel Highlands Council, while enjoying world-class entertainment during the evening.

The show will end with a concert by Stereotype and a fireworks extravaganza, capping off a weekend filled with amazing program, new friendships and recommitted bonds to the ideals of Scouting.
